Someone reminded me that I haven’t blogged in a while. This is not a good state of affairs! So, updatery

Suited revision is finished, and ms off to beta-readers. I’ve decided that calls for some time off. I’ve been struggling for the past few weeks, feeling burned out writing-wise. So, I’m taking a fortnight (ish) off writing to recharge the batteries. Instead I have been reading heaps, cooking up a storm (made baklava fingers with halva ice cream the other day… OMG can you say delicious?) and drawing. I haven’t drawn for years. It’s hard, with an illustrator for a husband, to allow myself just to doodle. To enjoy colour and texture and make a big mess. The perfectionist in me can’t help but compare us and stick a big old ‘Fail’ sticker on my head. But so far, I’m having a great time! Last night a drew a marsupial dragon-creature riding a gum leaf, and a gum nut that turned into a lamp, kinda. It’s great!

More news is that Out of the Frying Pan is out and looking very nice on Finch’s spiffy website. Sadly, I can’t make the launch in Perth. But I am there in spirit!
